Analyzing the Relationship between Opportunities Distribution and Human Development in Iran

Abstract

 Considering the two-way relationship of human development and distribution of opportunities in the process of growth and development, the improvement of human development, which is possible through the creation of equal opportunities in different regions, as the main factor
in advancing the goals at the national level and regional, it is necessary; And on the other hand, one of the ways to improve the human development index is to pay attention to regional and national influencing factors, and therefore, it is necessary to investigate and identify how opportunities are
distributed in a region in order to improve human development.
In this research, opportunities are categorized in five economic, infrastructure, social-cultural, knowledge, and health-environmental dimensions to form a structural model for their relationship with human development for ran provinces during the period of 2005-2018 byusing panel data and
principal component analysis method.
The results show the positive effect of opportunities distribution in different dimensions on human development. Therefore, appropriate planning should be done in allocating opportunities and especially economic opportunities in the provinces so that justice-oriented policies can help
promote human development. Also, the increase of justice in health and environmental opportunities and knowledge can lead to the improvement of mental and physical health and the improvement of skills and will have a positive effect on human development.
